ST. GEORGE — Utah Tech’s men’s and women’s cross country teams ran their second-best top-five average time in university history at the Santa Clara Bronco Invitational Saturday morning.
And among the runners to make their mark are two Southern Utah prep standouts.
The men averaged 25 minutes, 8 seconds, for 8 kilometers, en route to a 20th-place finish, while the women averaged 21:50 on the 6K course to place 17th.
Brian Shulz paced the Trailblazers with the No. 3 time in program history, running 24:47.2. Kallen Webster ran the fourth-best time in program history, racing in 24:56.6, and Andrew Allen followed him up with the No. 5 best all-time in 25:06.5.
Six Trailblazer men ran the fastest 8k races of their collegiate careers in the Bronco Invite.
Emma Humes finished in 22:35.8, followed by Nicolette Coffman in 23:04.5 and Maria Skinner in 23:47.4
Six Trailblazer women ran their best 6k races.
Utah Tech will head to Nacogdoches, Texas, Oct. 29 for the 2022 Western Athletic Conference Championships.
